Robert Lee Avary, lawyer and educator, was born 15 June 1863, in DeKalb County, Georgia. He attended Emory College (A.B., 1886) and the University of Georgia (1890, LL. B.) and was admitted to the Georgia bar (1890), after which he began to practice law in Atlanta.
